My wife's father attended Wyoming Seminary in Forty Fort, PA, across the Susquehanna River from Wilkes-Barre in the late 1930's. While there he got married and my sister in law and 2 brothers in law were born there. I recall the destruction I saw there in 1972 after Hurricane Agnes, flood crest at about 41'. Agnes ovwetopped the levee in 1972. After Agnes they raised and added levees. Yesterday's flood crest was 42.66', the following image shows the river at the top of the levee which held.
40 Mohawk Drive is across the street from the levee.
WOW! is all I can say.

Wow, indeed!! Never underestimate the power of water!!!
My cousins mom and step dad live in Wilkes-Barre!! They own a little hardware store there. I hope they are not flooded. 😐
I wonder when that GoogleMaps photo was taken?
There is flooding in the image, but the river on Friday was much higher.
I didn't think Google updated their aerials very often.
I estimate that to be within 2-3' to the top of the levee.
So when that photo was taken, I do not know, but it would worry me were I on the street.
