A few hours ago I got a?ÿfrantic call from my youngest son.?ÿ Seems as though his youngest son (a 7 year old Cash boy..) had "gone over the wall" from the confines of their backyard.?ÿ The child was upset about something that had happened and I guess he decided to "take some time for himself".?ÿ By the time I got the call he had been missing for about an hour.?ÿ Mom, Dad and older brother were all very upset.?ÿ They and all the local neighbors were all out canvassing the area with their BOLO.

They live on the other side of the metro area from me so I decided to sit tight.?ÿ My son told me he was reluctant to call the police immediately.?ÿ I suggested he go ahead and call them out of an abundance of caution.?ÿ Things could get complicated after sundown.?ÿ He went ahead and called the police.

Thirty minutes later I got a "good news" call from my son.?ÿ The local police had spotted him in a park about a mile from their house...with one of their many security cameras.?ÿ An officer was dispatched to retrieve my wayward grandson and he got?ÿa ride home in a squad car.

His older brother is a little more level headed, but this one exhibits all the "Cash traits" (good and/or bad) that I am so familiar with. I pray to the good Lord that's the only time he gets to see the inside of a police car...Pawpaw has his fingers crossed. ??ÿ

Good job by the local constabulary and their mess of cameras.?ÿ

Grand kids are something for sure.?ÿ My youngest grandson is in fifth grade.?ÿ He has had quite the school experience.?ÿ He is a?ÿ good kid but seems to get in more fights and such than you'd expect.?ÿ We all been over to the school several times.?ÿ He is not a bully but he won't take any crap from anybody.?ÿ I've counseled him several times that "you got to stick up for yourself but you need to keep out of trouble also."?ÿ One time when he got in a fight he departed directly to the principal's office to get his side of the story in first.?ÿ The principal says he doesn't lie.?ÿ We don't tolerate lying in our family.?ÿ I guess punching the other kid out was worth the consequences to him.

Growing up in the fifties was hard enough.?ÿ I'm sure it is only harder nowadays for a young man.?ÿ

This young Cash boy is third grade material. He's a good kid but wears his feelings on his shirt sleeve...just like his daddy...who is just like his daddy...yours truly.?ÿ But he's on a good path.?ÿ And like you've mentioned, honesty is a big part of everything.?ÿ When my kids were young I put up with a lot; but lying or stealing was 100% totally unacceptable.?ÿ It's good to see my sons carrying on the tradition.

Happy Endings are nice.

OH, btw did he get to ride in the front seat. I've ridden in "law enforcement vehicles" but they would never let me sit up front. Probably didn't want me to pull a Sargent Sedinco, (Cheech and Chong) on the radio.?ÿ ??ÿ

Lady I know made a MAJOR mistake when she involved law officers in finding her delinquent teenage daughter. ?ÿShe was at the station when the daughter called to report she had heard they were looking for here. ?ÿAn officer was dispatched to go get her and deliver her to the station. ?ÿThe mother then said, "I can't wait to get her home and beat her ass good." ?ÿThe law sent her daughter to a 90-day summer camp for bad girls with no visitation rights for the parents. ?ÿThey were prepared to lock up the mother if she even attempted to have contact with the daughter.

Intelligent kids are better at lying according to studies.
