Canine Geocaching is here!
Sunday, June 28, 11:00a to 2:30p in Yachats, OR.
A collaboration between Surf City Dog Training and City Dog Country Dog.
A fun event for geocachers or for those who want to learn more about the sport. This unique event requires both a GPS (or Smart Phone) and your dog’s nose!
Use your Smart Phone or GPS to navigate to hidden caches. Your Smart Phone or GPS will get you close to hidden caches, but your dog's nose will be required to find them! Those familiar with geocaching are welcome to go without a guide. Those who are new to the sport (or who would like help) will hike with a guide as part of a small group (guides will allow you to do the searching, helping only when necessary).
A GPS or Smart Phone is required. Don't have one? We may have a small number of "loaner" GPS units available for those that do not have them. For Smart Phone users, a free or low-cost geocaching app may be required for your phone. Feel free to email off group before you register to ask about your Smart Phone and the app required.
Fitness-level for this event: uphill climbing, uneven terrain - please ask us ahead of time if in doubt about whether this will be fun for you and your dog. Please feel free to email off group if you have questions about this event.
Cost is $25 per dog-handler team ($5 for each additional person or dog). Space is limited.
****This event is for dogs who love to be around other dogs and people (no aggressive or reactive dogs, please).****
