What I hate is when I turn to one or more people I've been around when we were young and now that we are old and I say, "Remember when.................."?ÿ They look at me as if I'm making up some fairy tale.?ÿ Just because they have crappy memories doesn't mean I do, as well.
A few months back I was in a room that included five fellows who were all in the same school at the same time, way back in the 1965-66 school year.?ÿ We all had the same music teacher who was suddenly canned and the school board made a desperate search for someone to finish the year as music teacher.?ÿ Mrs. Ward was canned and Mrs. Brutchin took her place.?ÿ Mrs. Brutchin's obituary had appeared in one of the local newspapers a couple days before we were all together.?ÿ Not a one of them could remember either teacher.?ÿ A couple of days later I bumped into a female friend from that same era.?ÿ She could not remember either teacher, also.?ÿ Everyone in Fifth through Eighth Grade and many of the high school students had these two teachers that year.
@flga-2-2 :?ÿ I was told just before the delivery of our third child that if I passed out or got sick, or anything else I would be ignored.?ÿ They would leave me on the floor if that's where I ended up.?ÿ The new baby and then the mother are treated first.
By the time my first child came along, I had been involved in dozens of cases of being veterinarian assistant ("at home style with no educated veterinarian to be found") at calving time.?ÿ The doctor looked at me shortly after my darling daughter was born and said,"You seem to have came through this rather well."?ÿ I responded by making reference to my experiences with cattle birthing.?ÿ DO NOT MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT COWS AROUND A WOMAN WHO HAS JUST ENDURED NINE MONTHS OF PREGNANCY AND 12 HOURS OF LABOR.?ÿ Trust me on that one.
One thing that happens from being a frequent poster is that the likelihood of receiving several notifications per day on here is accelerated greatly.?ÿ Some are comments on a thread I started or others may be likes for something from three years ago.?ÿ An example of the latter is what I found when I sat down this morning.?ÿ I found three likes from a new member of the group who had just signed up earlier today.?ÿ There was a five-page thread from October 2019 about solo surveying.?ÿ Somehow over those five pages I had made at least three posts as all three likes were comments from that thread.

I had a sciatica problem a while ago and I don't know if this will work for you, but it was simply from sitting on a fat wallet in my back pocket. Since then I've been carrying it in my front pocket. Also helps to befuddle pickpockets (if such a thing still exists).
I learned this lesson the hard way also.?ÿ I use a small wallet in my front or side pocket for the last 20+ years now.

@holy-cow Take care of yourself. During the Christmas holidays I got knocked out cold by a cow. She was in my cheap head gate and I had my oldest daughter giving a shot of la-200 and i had her head and she always goes to her knees in a headgate. She came up with a left hook caught me right under the chin. As soon as i came to my daughter and son said dad we gave her the shot can you move so we can let her out. I need to stop being a cheapskate and just buy a squeeze chute that mounted head-gate is not the safest. ?ÿAnd now dealing with foot rot and abscess tying off legs is dangerous. My youngest two daughters they love to help and a nice squeeze chute would allow a little safer environment for them helping me. ?ÿTake care of that back. On top of surveying somebody has to feed the world. We were out this morning loading feeder hay wagon with small squares for the heard. Trying to feed those up before it gets to cold and nasty. Then round bales.
