JB,

I use Nitro PDF. While not free, it was pretty reasonable. I paid about $119 for it, and it does almost everything I need to to to a PDF.

I hope this helps.

I recently needed to build a large multi-page PDF for a project. I needed to create the many pages from several different programs. I used "PDF Creator" which comes with a nice editor that allows page insertion, deletion and merging of multiple PDFs. I also used an editor that can be downloaded from "PDF995". This program allows multiple pages to be written to the same PDF file from different sources and also has the ability to add bookmarks and other data after the PDF is created. The free version has an annoying pop-up but, hey, it's free.

You may (perhaps) consider the Open Office suite. They have a pdf editor add-on. Best of all, it is all F R E E.

Irfanview will open up pdfs. Maybe you could save as a tiff or jpg, and edit it in Paint or something. Then print to pdf?

I have never tried that option. I have used Open Office to edit pdf files though and Open Office is mostly compatible with the Office suite and a whole bunch cheaper.....

I have successfully opened and edited pdf files with Open Office. Do you have the add-on installed?

JB,

Use something that will convert from a PDF to a JPG or PNG file. You can even do a screen capture with the PDF open and then save it as a PNG, they are much crisper and cleaner than a JPG. Open in PAINT, and you can move/edit things as you like, then resave as a PNG, then drop it into a Word or Open Office doc and resave as a PDF if you need too.

It sounds like a cumbersome process, but it's a lot like a raw data file or adjusting a traverse... you just got get the steps right and it's a breeze. I'll do it via phone if you'd like me to.
