Looks like a good start at a RPLS.com replacement. Much easier to use. Keep up the good work. JRL

Wendell,
You had better start working on the "Firearms" category now that "you know who" showed up.

Thanks guys, my bridge project is almost completed, I'll have to post some construction photos once it is done.

As far as the firearms go.....firearms, can I say that here?? 😉 ....Hunting season starts next weekend so the deer rifles are getting the dust wiped clean.

Have not had much time to read the chatter here, but first impression...I like.

Well, hello there GunMan!!! 😀 I likey that name!!!:good:

Yea you can say firearms here. I bet the majority of our Beerleggers own one. I own one myself. Just a little 22º pea shooter but it packs a big punch!! (The bullets have something to do with that.)
I miss my 9MM but the dang thing was just too heavy to carry. 😐

I've got an 1861 Springfield (reproduction) Rifle (.58 cal). Otherwise, just a couple pellet guns.

Hello back at you. All the women I know named Angel have always been very nice. You know what they say...."It's not the size the the gun, it's how you shoot it." 😉 Oops now I am getting carried away.

Actually my favorite gun to shoot is the smallest (.17 cal. rimfire).

JRL

There are two kinds of GunMen, both look through a scope with crosshairs and are usually found tromping through the woods.

uh oh... you mention guns and I start thinking of Nearly Normal and his shooters forum that would degrade into him howling at the moon.

Now you guys have me wanting to go out and do some shooting practice. I enjoy those target things, those clay frisbee things, and also the ol' cans and bottles shooting.

First time I ever went shooting it was to get to know my 9MM. Dad took me to the shooting range and put one of those target things out there about 100-200 (cant remember which) feet out and told me "Ok, shoot him here. Shoot him there. Between the eyes. In that round circle there. Ok now that other circle. Good job." I spent about an hour shooting different areas he told me to shoot at. After wards we took my target man into the gun clerk and dad and he do some gun/bullet ratio talking and other stuff I didn't quite understand then dad asks him "So, what do you think??" The guy goes "Eh...she gets an A-." Then we tell him it was my first time EVER at the shooting range. He didn't believe neither 1 of us and accused my dad of doing the shooting!! "There's NO WAY you shot THAT perfectly from THAT far away." It took me 10 minutes of explaining how I shot at the dang thing for him to believe me. Sheesh...a girl can't shoot or what??? This girl can. 😉

I saved my target man thing just to prove I could shoot. He hangs in my garage. I still get comments from people that think I'm fibbing. What's a girl to do?? :-/

Angel

Most women shoot very well due to no testosterone or male bravado oozing out their pores.

I taught my wife to shoot. She cried after the first round. After the 300th round, she locked and loaded just as well as I did and don't let my wife shoot at you. She's good.

First time I ever shot a gun I had no ear protection. I cried!! That was also the last time I ever shot a gun without ear protection!! Ouch!! :-O

Yea...It was a new 9mm S&W I had just bought and dad said I needed to "break it in." It seemed kinda far and I had to squint my eyes but dad said "That's just how it is. Now shoot!" So I shot. I guess that is why I got the A- and then the disbelief from the gun clerk. I dunno if I could be that accurate again though. That was a few years ago. But it would be fun to try!!

Personally I'd rather shoot at cans and bottles & those flying clay frisbee thingys. Those are harmless. I felt kinda funny shooting at a man target. 😐

If I remember tomorrow I'll post a pic of my "man target." He's pretty holey!! 😛
