This piece of equipment turned up at work today no one seems to know what it is or where it came from. It has no markings on it so I tried searching for multiple things such as pipe laser, alignment tool, etc. It has an amber lens with a sight glass to look through. When looking through the sight there is a vertical line only no crosshairs. Does anyone know what this is and how it is used?

It looks like a really cool paper weight!
I bet it has something to do with aerial photography - total guess...
fence aligning tool ? - sits on the post and gives line forward ?
More photos would be helpful, showing it from other angles.
Well, it's not a woman.
Looks like the site for a pipe laser to me.

I was thinking that it looked like something out of a spectra physics box...

Being very smart, I realized that I could use Google image search to figure out what this was, and Google came through with the answer.
What you have is....FURNITURE!
Awesome! I am so happy to finally have an educated answer from a leading expert who probably works at furniture emporium! Thanks sir keep up the good work!
I'm very sure that's a spotting scope for a pipe laser. The red lenses are to filter out other parts of the spectrum so you can see the spot, and it only has a vertical crosshair because you're only using it for line.

It looks different than any other pipe laser I have used. I was more curious to see if anyone knew what brand it might be.
