We got about 1' of really wet snow (would have been much deeper but so much of it melted before sticking) on Friday, trees broken all over the place and power out in some areas, but sounds like we dodged the worst. My sister in South Dakota had hip deep snow in their yard, power out and no water service. They are lucky because they have a wood stove plenty of supplies but, now they are going on the fourth day of no services.
Half way in-between, talking to my cousin, they were out of power for two days and couldn't get out because of the deep drifts. Her son was able to plow his way into the house by Sunday morning. Hope it isn't going to be one of "those" winters like back in the 70's.
My chief financial officer said to invest in Ski-doo Skandic and Carhartt coveralls for upcoming winter projects. :-O It didn't align with my idea of investing in the white beaches of Costa Rica. 🙁

Wow,
They are predicting a harder winter than what we have been having the past few years. At least that is what I have heard.
Costa Rica should be a good option this year. Oct 4 and already had two snow storms. And both were more than just a skif. Although, this last one was unusually bad for this time of year.
At least the reservoir levels are looking up;-)
I figured you'd be getting a bit of that- it sounds pretty bad for several areas. We haven't had any snow on the valley floor yet. It will be here any day.
I thought we had it bad. Then I started to talk to others and realized I was just a whiner. 😉
