If this even works, it's a link to a slideshow of pics of some work I did last summer.
I bet you don't use near as much tire sealer as the other surveyors.
Some people on here have probably never seen a true horizon before.
I had one where I stood still, turned in a circle slowly, and showed where there was nothing but miles and miles of miles and miles to be seen. Some friends of my brothers accused me of deleting the sounds, they had never heard the quiet before.
That's brilliant.
An aspect of surveying few could comprehend, yet alone partake in.
I could imagine how peaceful that would be, no roaring engines, or madding crowds.
No need for OH&S, no seatbelts, roll cages. No need to watch the fuel gauge.
And I imagine he'd get you home without any need for GPS, or other modern contrivances.
Definitely surveying in The Great Outdoors.
Excellent way to survey!
You didn't have to take rush hour into your mobilization plan. Excellent.
One little problem, though, is cell phone towers get too far apart in places. A similar view is in eastern Colorado. You can drive many miles there with no cell phone service.
HC, I do not see that as a problem in the least
Let's see no cars or cell phones VS cell phones with gridlock. Monte your are a genius.
Is that a horse? 😉
That is a horse, my favorite way to search for old stone mounds or other original survey corners. I can see down in the grass, travel quicker, and I stay out of the cactus.
