Would have made a bundle?
If I knew where I could have made a bet I would have at least put something ($10 - $20) on "Rich Strike" just because he was 80-1, GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, he came out of nowhere!
Saturday I was chatting with the mother-in-law of my youngest daughter.?ÿ She has been very active in the breeding of racing horses for many year.?ÿ I asked her who the favorites would be.?ÿ She told me of one with the best record and another being ridden by a jockey with more wins than nearly anyone else.?ÿ She had some money (far more than $10 or $20) on one of them.?ÿ Guess she wasted her money.?ÿ I read there has only been one other horse in the history of the Derby that won with even worse odds and that was over 100 years ago.
They were talking about that, after the fact as usual. If I'm going to bet on a long shot like that it's going to be something that I really wouldn't care so much about losing, at least I took the shot, but that might also be th max I mu=ight bet on a favorite. Incidentally the two favorite s were both ridden by the two big name jockeys (now that Jerry Bailey's retired).
