I admit that I probably will never buy a motorcycle as long as my wife is watching. But that doesn't mean I don't keep track of the market of BMW K75s and Kawasaki Drifter 800s that would be at the top of the list, otherwise. Oh, and there is the Honda Pacific Coast that is oddly appealing, but don't mention to anyone that you heard it from me.

So, that explains how it was that I stumbled upon this little bit of creative ad copy that almost makes the machine for sale secondary. This is what marketing is all about, I suppose. It's not just a machine, it's an Elmore Leonard script waiting for production.

Sounds like he wants a '93 Bruce Willis to play the part. The guy uses more colorful adjectives than I do.

3K is not a bad price, but it needs checked out by a wrench with Honda experience. I believe the power plant came from the older Honda Shadow 800cc platform. It's a full forty plus pounds lighter than my Midwest farm equipment. While it does have twin caliper front disc brakes, it's shaft drive almost guarantees it has drum brakes on the rear.

You should snatch it up Kent. If you watch the Great Escape enough times you might pick up some tips on how to get over those 8' fences...;)

saw that- there have been a couple others on CL in the past month or three. this guy is a bit prouder of his than the other two - probably just trying to recoup for the time he invested in his magnum opus there.

anyways, the better half has been itching for a new bike, so i've had my eyes on similar products. and this morning a creative solution resulted in her getting a new bike. it occurred to me that my old, retired dad has just about run himself out of things to knock down with his bobcat. and he LOVES craigslist. so i started looking on his local craigslist and... voila. it's pretty remarkable the premium we pay here to be so cool all the time.

so, kent, here's an offer: scan the omaha craigslist instead. find one/any and i'll send the old man to check it out. you buy it, i'll go up there and ride it down for you. that should give you plenty of time to get your wife used to the idea. and if that isn't enough time for some reason, i'll be happy to keep it at our house and make sure it stays warm periodically.

btw, here's the wifey's 'new' ride: https://omaha.craigslist.org/mcy/d/1982-honda-gl500-silverwing/6282936300.html

I heard it was an ounce short of 14 pounds.

I do not believe there is any way to make the part of having to change from a Louisiana title to a Texas title from being any easier and less costly than the certain awful process that it can involve.
