CLSA bulletin board... getting revamped.
It is due time, they have been using 10 year old buggy propitiatory software.
it is nice to be notified and not simply get a 404, but when is "tomorrow"?
That was posted on the forum on Friday so tomorrow was yesterday ;-).
They could've edited that but oh well.

The forum is back but it looks like the old one.
The new forum post is still there promising a new forum "tomorrow."
I'm not sure what it all means?
The software we are using here isn't exactly a spring chicken. 😉
However, we're working on that. I understand fully what they might be going through over there. My initial thoughts about converting this forum were something like, "Well, it might be a bit of a challenge, but it shouldn't be THAT bad." My current thoughts go a little more something like this: "Um... seriously? It really IS that bad."

Well, heck. This works Wendell. no complaints.
my initial remark: "using 10 year old buggy propitiatory software" should not have included the age, old is sometimes just fine. 🙂 however the newest versions seem to have the same problems as the "old" one they are/were using. (there is a user forum). It is buggy, many features just don't work and maybe never did. Lots of down time too. Being "proprietary" the pool of capable people that can fix it, make it work, and keep it working is severely limited.
There are several open source/free BB programs in common use these days, such as https://www.phpbb.com/ but migration must be a true challenge... keeping the content and users credentials and importing into something else could be near impossible.
oh well, enough of my Freedom rant...
PS: Wendell whatever you do please keep the RRS feeds working!

We are definitely keeping the RSS feed. But I'm hoping that you'll be willing to provide more feedback when the new site goes live to make sure it is functioning properly. 🙂
This outdated, badly-written forum software will soon be a thing of the past. Once challenged, you are hard-pressed to pull me away until the challenge has been successfully defeated!

I'm seeing the same screen Peter posted for the last couple of days now, except there is a date given. It currently says the new CLSA forum will be launched May 5th.
