Only a surveyor........................................(shaking head in despair for another lost soul)
I am hoping for a CFEDS drive in my stocking, and that Santa locates my Nevada application (lost in the mail for several weeks now)...

Lost in the mail, right...it's on someone's desk under their coffee cup.
The company that runs the state specific exam for Pennsylvania emailed me my exam results Wednesday, two weeks after the board issued my license and mailed the certificate

Well, my birthday and Christmas present was the 4000sse, and I'm not even going to be making money with it. So I guess I'm far lost, too.
We have a PS40
Why do we have major import problems on almost every project? Getting it from Leica scanner format to Leica Cyclone format can be a major headache. Four of us were fighting that this week AGAIN? Project absolutely refuses to import. Tried on three computers, two imports to gig stick, one with copy tool. I thought Leica fixed that so how does it keep coming back?

Me too, my Ruger SR9 gave birth to a Ruger SR9c, each of which can hold 17 rounds.
Note to StlSurveyor: If you are gonna carry your ÛÏBrand new P40Û into the ÛÏhoodÛ I would suggest the Ruger SR9c as an accompanying tool.
Gorgeous Rugers!
Quite a difference between the guns, digital and analogue.
I have tried some of the newer handguns and can't 'pull the trigger' in any sense.
My trigger finger was removed and replaced a long time ago. The range of motion and sensation are both limited. I can drive tacks with my Italian 357, but can't deal with the trigger pull of newer handguns.
Any suggestions? Would love a practical daily carry with some punch and precision...

Take it to your local gunsmith, they can adjust the trigger pull from 10 lbs to "hair" or anything in between according to your needs.
Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the suggestion. My issue isn't the hard pull. These newer handguns seem to have very long trigger travel, and some won't even fire if you don't pull exactly right. I only looked at a few so maybe I just need to dig deeper.

Strange, I have had no problems. And I have never heard of any problems like that. Are you using the transfer tool or are you dragging and dropping?

The long trigger pull is the built in safety on the polymer framed carry weapons. Without an external safety, the trigger pull becomes the safety in that a long full pull prevents an accidental discharge when carried.
I would suggest looking into a carry weapon that has an external safety, like the compact 1911's, or at least a palm type safety, like the Springfield XDS. I believe having a trigger *adjusted* on a weapon without an external safety is an accidental discharge looking for a place to happen.

They fixed it the first time with a patch. It's gets stuck at 41% import. The patch to Cyclone worked but now it's back except this time all we get are photos, no point clouds and that is after letting it run all night. The last time at least we got the point clouds with unblended photos. The only good news is we can redo the project if we have to, that's not usually the case on our incident mapping for law enforcement. I suspect the machine has a bad hard drive in it, we are going to make them fix it, they should, their maintenance costs a small fortune, okay a large fortune when you throw in Cyclone maintenance.
We tried downloading to the stick twice, using the copy tool twice...I had him copy it to a different folder the second time, upgraded the software to 9.1.2, 3 different computers all of which have handled larger projects. I'm out of ideas. They'll have to figure it out.
The C10 ran flawlessly for over five years, still have it.
Don't get me wrong, the P40 is a wonderful machine, the point cloud contrast in real colors is a huge improvement. But I would check your data every day. That is what I do, make sure I have it. The screen is way better too. I use the iPad to run it. I had to buy RDP myself, no way I would get that through IT but it was only a few dollars.

I agree with Alan. The 1911 style guns are designed to be carried "Cocked and Locked".

Thanks for the reply Alan. I do like the 1911 style. I carried one as a hunting sidearm for quite some time. A daily carry would need to be a little smaller and lighter for me...

Look into Colt's Officer Model. It is a compact 1911 in .45 acp.
Per CCW DAO trigger pulls....have to remember you are looking at hitting a 8" to 10" target at less than 20 feet distance.
I'm told any farther than that and you are looking at some serious liability.
Every time I cringe at a "staple gun" like trigger pull - I have to remind myself that this tool is for a specific purpose and it isn't shooting groups on paper.
In fact I'm told it's more effective to have a nice "buckshot" type pattern.
With a little work, you can get a DAO revolver to stack up lightly while it's advancing the cylinder, then firmly break.
