Last night after the PBS Newshour was over, there was nothing on TV that I wanted to watch. That guy Lawrence O'Donnell on CNBC with his new show "The Last Word" bugs me so I went channel surfing. On ESPN, there was this Celebrity Bowling show so I checked it out. This is TV worth watching. It's a tape of an old early 70's show with low-level celebrities of the day competing for like Amana Radaranges and rice-a-roni and a new Chevrolet Vega. The one I watched had Michael Douglas who looked like he was about 20 years old and Brenda Vaccaro, Scatman Crothers and Alex Trebeck with a big afro. The others clebrities were ones I didn't recognize.
I might not watch every episode, but it is certainly one of the best programs on the air, in my opinion.
Ah, yes. Brenda Vaccaro was a babe.
It was funny too because a lot of the people were smoking, like it was a normal thing. They're just sitting there in between frames lighting up on TV. I didn't see Brenda smoke but I suspect she did because remember those commercials she did later in her career where they had to mute the sound in between sentences because she was wheezing so much? I didn't see Michael Douglas smoking either but now he has throat cancer, right? That's usually associated with heavy smoking and drinking from what I understand.
Anyway, it made me laugh but in kind of a bittersweet way. I like that kind of stuff. The outfits alone are worth the price of admission.
Ok when is this coming on again. I wanna watch it and see Alex Trebecks afro!! 😀
I met him once...very nice guy, actually, and a jokester. I teased him about having too much money. 😉
I didn't see Michael Douglas smoking either but now he has throat cancer, right?
Reports are now suggesting that the current rise in mens throat cancer could be linked to oral sex.
That seems to make sense.
