Can't change the lineweight of a layer that I want to thicken the lines on. How do you do it?
Set the layer to a color you want. Go to "plot" and then "select pen assignments". Find the color number and set the pen width.
you don't have to do lineweights by color, you can choose them bylayer or even by object
i've only seen it twice and last night was the second i saw as i actually tried it (CAD MAP 06 w/ CARLSON 12)
be sure to turn on the LWT option at the bottom to see the lineweight immediately
if you cannot see it well, crank up the lineweight (i used something v. fat to see it)
be sure your objects have the bylayer properties for the lineweight
or use the more common by color method, when you select plot, be sure to use the right pen assignments.
What I'm trying to do is change the lineweight of an entire layer in the layers property manager from a .40 to a .60 and it won't allow me to do so. There must be a setting that allows for this that isn't allowing me to make the change but I just don't know what it is. Maybe Ladd will chime in.
Via Carlson Survey 2012 w/ Intellicad. I can do exactly what you explain. Within the layers manager under the lineweight dropdown every layer will say 'default' if you have lineweights set up by color. You can override the defaults and modify the lineweight directly as well, by layer.
You might try issuing the LWeight command at the "Command:" prompt. Check to see if the setting below is enabled:
Otherwise, please post the particulars of the CAD version and Carlson build number you are running and I'll see if I can replicate.
