Was looking online at the hourly forecast for today for my location

Currently it is 37 F and the winds are out of the north at 14 mph

At noon it will be 39 F, and the winds will be out of the north at 14 mph

At 1:00 it will be 42 and the winds will be calm at 13 mph.

Really?

At 2:00 it will be 44 F and the winds will be out of the ESE at 13 mph

At 3:00 the winds will move to the SW at 13 mph

At 4:00 the winds will move to the NNW at 13 mph and stay that way until later this evening.?ÿ High for the day at 49 F

Not to windy in Puyallup, today, usually isn't

Out at Humtulips, on the other hand, looks a little breezy...

@dougie

What weird kind of flower child would want to hump tulips?  That's just perverted.

But when you think about it; 2 lips is what you want, isn't it?

Drippy day here in Puyallup; going to want full rain gear; good pair of boots, too.

Barn boots will work, if you're on a budget.

Clear but felt like 19 F to start the day.  That would put some meat on the bones of your drizzle drops.

Is that the bunch that caused WalMart to shutter three stores?

@holy-cow

While waiting for Beavis and Butthead to start on TV I started wondering if everyone in Kansas has a "root cellar" type tornado hiding place or what do you do when one takes aim at you?

You watch the weathermen on TV showing you where they think it is.  Then you go outside to see if you can see it.  Then you go to bed.  Nearly a 100 percent chance it will miss you.

Had a little one miss my house by about a half mile.  If I had gone to the nearest shelter, it would have missed me by the same amount.

There are exceptions to the rule.  Most tornados are no big deal unless it happens to hit exactly where you or your valuable possessions happen to be.  Then there are those that you will never forget.  The one that hit Topeka, Kansas in 1966 comes to mind.  It was on the ground and wide from the southwest corner of the city, straight through the heart of the city and finally lifting near the airport at the northeast corner of the city.  It damaged the State Capitol building.  My sister, who had lived about three blocks south of the Capitol, had moved to Massachusetts about three weeks earlier.  Everything from the ceiling of her former apartment and up for a couple of floors was completely removed.  A massive old house she had lived in previously was picked up and slammed into a similar monster house across the street creating a massive pile of rubble.
