Wine and Indian Casinos.

In my travels around the State those two industries have bloomed.

I thought it was seven: wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony.

I don't get the whole In n Out thing. I've been twice and have been underwhelmed both times. I know they treat their employees well, but the burger patty is very pedestrian.

I'd rather have Five Guys or Hardees (Carl's Jr).

:good: I'm with you, Carl! Even if you get a "Double Double" and In-N-Pout, it still doesn't add up to one patty at Five Guys or even a McDonald's Quarter Pounder, for that matter.

No wonder you and Wendell get along. He says exactly the same thing!! He is hooked on 5 guys cajon fries.

And now that we have a 5 guys about 15 miles away that's even more of a reason for him to say to me "lets go there" when I whine about wanting In-n-Out. I think with In-n-Out it is more of a cult following.

Personally, for me, I grew up on In-n-Out and just LOVE them; always have. Always fresh, never frozen. Anytime I go home it is my first stop! But it holds fond memories for me as a kid, teen, adult, etc... so it's a comfort place for me. 🙂

well, that makes sense. I am the same way with certain Italian mom & pops where I went to high school (Bridgeport, WV). LOTS of great italian food up there.

I'll give you Hardee's, but five guys stinks IMHO. I have yet to get a decent burger there, the meat is flavorless. The secret to flavorful meat is fat. They do not use enough fat in their burgers.

Now as far as guilty pleasures go, I still like Central Park when we go to Chattanooga! Nice greasy burgers that clog your arteries just looking at them. YUMMY!!!!

<--- Italian!! And I cook ALL of my Italian food from scratch. Ask Wendell. Wait...don't ask because then he will tell you about how often I cook.

I think it depends on the 5 Guys franchise. The ones out here I notice a difference too. The one that just opened is really good, but the one about 45 miles away is mediocre. Maybe it's the chefs or??

I like CJs fried zucchini! YUM! Do they have that there at the Hardees??

No shortage of fat in the Five Guys burgers I've had. Genuine artery-clogging goodness, made from fresh ground, they are the real deal at every Five Guys I've been to. I'm used to the original Five Guys in Virginia, and most of the franchises I've been to model after the original.

Hardee's and other fast food burger joints do not compare, with their flat, mass-produced, preformed, frozen burgercicles.

Maybe it is just the meat the FL ones buy. It is dry as a bone. Yuck!!!! Now the fries are pretty good and the peanuts are excellent.

Nope the hardee's around here do not do fried Zucchini. Of course this is the south so we would know if they were doing it wrong. Fried foods are a way of life in the south. Heck, I even know someone who has cooked fried butter!!!

I forgot about Mary-gee-wanna.

Without it the Humboldt County Criminal Justice system would go broke 🙂

So David, what do you and the other Gold Rushers think about Prop 19?

They are bound to be better than Red Robin value wise.

Besides, I don't like their politics(Red Robin). And I am not going into details. That belongs in another category.

I'll vote yes but I'm not sure how it stands in the polls.

When I was a toe head, we stopped at Bob's Drive In on the way home from town once per week or so. (Ma&PA Joint, Sunnyside, WA) On the big weekend trips every coupla months to Yakima, nothing could beat Miners Burgers if you want a really big burger customized in anyway you like. Both been in operation since the 50's. I always look for a Ma&Pa local joint if I want a burger and fries. Real spuds with the skins left on, not mass processed. Real beef from local herds not mixed gruel from who knows where with a ration of mutton thrown in. Just drive through any town and find the local joint/cafe with all the locals parked out front. Look for the OLD falling apart signs out front.

In my teens, Artic Circle could stuff me for about $0.45.

As of July 5, 2010 it was 44% in favor and 48% opposed. Yet, just a couple of months ago it was the other way. Maybe those growers/pushers are starting to realize they'll be outta work and are starting to register to vote (I mean that's where the money is and money seems to have the ability to talk).
