I usually do not hesitate to cut any branch in my way, but some how my eye caught sight of this little guy just in time. Just could not do it and had to traverse around the Lilac bush.

The two big black dots on each side of his beak are closed eyes. All that fuzz is not the bird just nesting.

Scott

I've done that before too. Left the little guys in place. No need to destroy some little birds lives, for a few minutes of work.

Good on you. "God's eyes are on the sparrow" and so are mine!

Birds cheer me up often.

Favorite part of my job is getting see and hear these guys regularly. The powers on high see and approve as do I.

Scott-

Good on you laddie !

SWMBO fed one this Spring in a closed room in the house until it could fly.

After it started to fly, I put it in the chicken house where other birds gather and feed.

It eventually flew away.

Good example of why surveyors are the first ecologists at work.

Cheers,

Derek
