Joe and Boby were friends, before Bowden got ousted for misbehavior and lost some wins to put Joe in the lead for good. They still were friends after Bobby got ousted.

Can they be friends now that Joe is ousted?

Then they can sit around telling each other, "Boy did we "Ef" up.

Bowden had no class whatsoever

He never did and, obviously, he still doesn't.

Calling Paterno negligent demonstrated a bountiful amount of class.

Ditto, have heard Bowden speak in motivational seminars twice and highly respect his viewpoint. He emphasizes using sports to gain life skills that will benefit the player long after he has hung up his spikes, in much the same way Gene Stallings did.

Paterno's action, or lack of action is beyond explanation and being fired outright was the only sane course Penn State had at it's disposal.

They both went down in disgrace. JoPa should take a lesson from Bowden ... do the opposite of what Bowden has done. JoPa should just disappear and enjoy his retirement. Bowden did his media circuit bad mouthing FSU, and making foolish comments like these. Bowden is the epitome of "negligence" when it comes "doing the right thing", and has not right to judge anyone. It just sounds like sour grapes after losing his wins title due to his own "negligence".

Sorry but I'm calling BS on comparing anything any coach has done before to turning a blind eye to child rape. This is far and away worse than any scandal I can recall.

what andy said.

no excuse for it. if you have knowledge of a child being hurt you have to speak up and protect the kids. if not you are guilty of child abuse.

I'm not saying the problems at FSU surpass the problems at PSU, just saying Bowden left of worst legacy as a head coach than Paterno, IMO.

If you want to blame someone, blame the 27 year man (and former football player) who witnessed it happening and instead of kicking some butt, reported it to his boss. Paterno had "hearsay" to work with, and he did report what he knew to his bosses, as well.

Bowden is more a body of work ... he did infact write a letter to a parol board on the behalf on a former player ... who raped, robbed, and shot a woman, leaving her for dead ... in order to land his half-brother, Ernie Sims, the #1 linebacker recruit. The victim, who survived, was a little p.o.ed about that.

In addition to that, he's had the foot locker scandle, the R&R truck world scandle, the cheating scandle, etc., and played Adrien McPherson after he was told by a former player he was gambling on his own game ... all of which he claims to have no knowledge of and no responsibility for.

No doubt, I can only imagine my first reaction would have been to grab the nearest thing I could find and beat that guy to death, I'm sure a temporary insanity plea would have got me out of trouble. My wife is convinced this guy got a position at the university as a payoff, I tend to agree with her.
