But I can't get enough of Joe Banamassa.
Plus the lyrics and his style of singing are right with me.
I can not imagine a studio version of that. I've watched that video several times today already and maybe will hit a few times since the neighbors on the other side of the wall aren't here at the moment.
He's just a kid!!! Well - late 20'ish.
... just a Sunday early evening musing....

I'm sorry too, because that definitely ain't the blues. If anything its Metallica warmed over or damped down (take your pick). Don't get me wrong, I have been a big Bonamassa fan for years. He is a great talent, among other "young-ish" guitar players such as Jonny Lang, Derek Trucks, or even Eric Sardinas. The latter 3 are staying really true to their blues roots, which I appreciate. You will probably never see any of those guys playing with a 10-piece metal band at the Albert Hall. If you want to hear some "early" Joe Bonamassa, then check this out. It is pretty astounding, and it is the blues.
I listened to him this week also and liked it also and was going to post a tune. .
I guess we are on the same vibe.
He was a child prodigy of rock and blues guitar.
His current band Black Country Communion has Jason Bonham on drums. His father was John Bonham and the bass player from Deep Purple.
They do some interesting and unique covers of rock tunes. Y'know Led Zeppelin, Cream etc had solid blues foundation.
Blues
To me...the BLUES is something more like:
Loyal
Its good to know that Joe Bonamassa is living long enough to expand his musical horizons and venture out from the blues. Here's another young blues guitarist who did some musical expansion of his own. If he had lived long enough to be the age that Joe B is now, I wonder what he would have done?
Blues
Ah, Loyal, now you really got me started. Taj is my main musical man. Check out the tone of this guitar, he's making it ring.
thanks to Big E as well, for lighting the blues fuse on this fine Sunday night.
THAT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME!!!
And to think he hadn't learned to sing yet.
Not to take away..
Jonny Lang was/is most awesome as well.

Buddy Guy People! lets get real.
Buddy Guy is awesome as well.
No doubt.
Buddy Guy People! lets get real.
ahem, Buddy Guy knocks that kids di** in the di**!
People! lets get real. OK how about JLH?
Good one Andy. Buddy Guy is truly an icon and a master of the blues. He's also had 80+ years to work on it. I wonder how he sounded when he was 12?
There's many forms of the blues, so the list is long. Here's another all-time great from the Delta/Hill Country school.
Good view of his hands, its a blues guitar lesson, if you will.
Never Famous...
Never traveled more than 100 miles fro his place of birth, only recorded one record and had to memorize everything because he was illiterate. But I did go fishing with him once when I was about 9 years old 🙂

..my point is only that these young guys are technically amazing, but they haven't actually lived... they are imitations..
It's like saying because a kid is a natural football player, he should be compared to Joe Namath.. nope, he's just copying the moves.
Slightly more famous, but still from Fat Possum Records
if this don't put some shake in your shaker, some quake in your quaker, and a little rock in your sock, then get your a$$ to a doctor to check your pulse.
