Great Find

I wonder how Bill would interpret the digital world we live in today. My favorite Hicks quote.
"..and if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn them. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years were rrreal high. The Beatles were so high they let Ringo sing a few tunes."
RIP Hicks, jokes live forever.

I really love stand up comedy, but Johnny Carson said "the comedian's disease is when they become philosophers."
The entire "One Night Stand" special by Hicks was a little too much for me; especially his little "martyrdom" staging at the end of the set after his vision to end world violence and begin a new age of space exploration. The part I'm talking about starts around 6:09

I agree with that. George Carlin stopped being funny late in his life. Hicks always had lots of serious commentary, but he never turned away from the funny.

Conversely, they used to say about Foucault & Derrida that the philosopher's disease is when they become comedians.
