Is beer leg an acronym for something in surveying?
just curious.
'round here, we call them, "Bozeman"- in honor of the engineering school....:-)
When the I-man would set up the tripod and one leg would be on the line when attempting to tape from point to point, it was called a "beer leg" ("whiskey leg" when I was learning....).
The offender would be obligated to buy a round for the crew at the end of the day. (Hopefully, at the end.....)
I use the term nowadays when the rodman sets up his pole and tripod (many only use a bipod) with a leg blocking site to the lower part of the pole.
Hey, that's a nice way to modernize the term. I like it. 🙂
What do you call it...
when the rodman looks like he's ready for another topo shot so you push measure but he changes his mind a split second later and moves the target making the instrument go nuts trying to find the target?
I've done it too when I'm on the rod.
That would be........
"premature reflection"
