Since Wendell is sicker than a dog and it's too cold here to BBQ, I decided to try and make him some comfort food to help him feel somewhat better. Tonight, for the very first time, I made Beef Stroganoff. It came out pretty good!! Either that or he just didn't want to hurt my feelings. 😉 Here's a few pics...

Some of my ingredients. No, I did not use the entire bag of garlic. 😛

Finished product served over egg noodles.

Of course we had to have a glass of fine Italian white wine to go with it!! :drink:

CV...

I'll look for those the next time I make this. These egg noodles I used were pretty good but if something better is out there, hey, why not try it??? 🙂

looks like a good recipe...

I use mushroom stock or a pre boxed-not from a can portabella mushroom soup instead of the beef broth... it started from a recipe I had to come up with for a friend with a gluten allergy that turned out really good.

(and for the non-gluten tyoes serve it over rice)

Dang I love Beef Stroganoff!

I would pair it with a Russian Stout 🙂

You're welcome. 🙂 I follow through with my promises. 😉

As for the recipe, I got it off of a recipe site but then I changed it and added a lot of things because I didn't like the original recipe. I like giving all of my food an Italian twist with LOTS of garlic!! :good:

Here is the original recipe: Beef Stroganoff

I cooked the meat like it says to do but I didn't cut it into strips, I didn't use shallots, and I didnt move it to a separate pan. I added some cooking wine, beef stock, paprika, oregano, dash of lemon juice, 8 cloves of garlic, 10 green onions, then I let it all cook together for about 15 minutes before I added the mushrooms and then the sour cream. After adding the cream I cooked it another 5-10 minutes. Let me know how it turns out when you cook it up!!! 😀
