This past weekend, my next door neighbors alerted me to this fine honeybee swarm in their tree. I went outside to do some yard work. My neighbor came running over and told me the beekeepers were in their backyard, and to go back inside. ME being deathly allergic ran RIGHT back into the house! ???ý?ÿ

Then there were a zillion bees flying around my backyard! Apparently they didn't get the queen like they thought, so beekeepers came back Sunday and tried again. I just looked over there last night and the swarm and bee box were gone so it looks like things were a success. ??

A couple of days ago I saw a bee aficionado moving about 100 boxes on his flatbed trailer.?ÿ We were at the same stop sign.?ÿ Fortunately, he was smart enough to have enshrouded his load with netting.?ÿ This reminded me of several years ago and a similar circumstance.?ÿ There was no netting that time.?ÿ Bees were everywhere, including trying to get into my vehicle to say "Hello".?ÿ As soon as the truck started to move, they all flew to catch up to take the easy ride with their buddies.

The unused open places around here are filling up with beehive boxes.

They have been brought in by the truckloads, I saw them covering a guys whole backyard in the edge of Queen City.

We have our fair share of wildflowers, clover, fruit trees and honeysuckle.

@a-harris

Lots of beekeepers around here also.  A day doesn't go by that I don't see a sign on the road announcing "fresh honey".  The honey I keep at the house is from a private individual just a few miles from here.

And they always seem to plant their hives near a fence corner where I need to look.  And although the air is thick with them sometimes they seem docile enough.  I don't bother them and they don't bother me.  I did get stung a few months ago when I flipped my hoodie up over my head.  Apparently there was one straggler in my hood.  Poor feller got me on the ear.

@paden-cash Some of the flowers in my yard attract bees (both honeybee and bumblebees) and hummingbirds.  I sit out on the patio with them flying by within feet and sometimes inches.  I haven't been stung but my intelligence challenged Boxer chases and sometimes catches one.  During the summer she quite often has a swelled lip or gum.
