I am still running Trimble Geomatics Office. I downloaded Geoid 12 and loaded it onto my TSC2 on which I run survey controller and I was able to pick that as my geoid model in a new project with no problems.

However, when I download the Geoid 12 GGF file into the proper directory (c:program filescommon files/trimblegeodata) it does not show up as one of my choices under TGO project properties - coordinate system settings - geoid model. Is Geoid 12 not recognized by the software? I do not see why this wouldn't work. I recall going through the same process with Geoid 09 and it worked fine. Am I missing a step?

I already tried importing a job using this geoid to see if that would help the software identify it, but it did not work and I was forced to revert back to Geoid 09.

Go into the coordinate system manager in TGO then the edit tab and select add geoid model

Looks like you need to do Step 2 of these instructions.

Just substitute GEOID12 (or GEOID12A) for GEOID09.

Thanks a lot! It has been a while since I have done that. I had the Geoid file in the right place I just hadn't added it to the list of available Geoid models.
