Our company has two Titans, and I won't buy another one. We had a third one that met it's demise in an accident last year. We replaced it with a new F150.
The tailgates are not made to take the constant opening and closing that we do. We had one of the rear ends completely go out at less than 100,000 miles. Gas mileage is horrible in ours. I personally do not like the layout, and feel like I'm in a small truck, but then again, I'm a pretty big guy.
They've had some more problems with them before I got here. It's a consensus that we won't buy another one.
As a side note, I'm not a fan of the all aluminum F-150's either. Our new one that replaced the wrecked titan is all aluminum, and you cannot use the mag mount strobe lights, or magnetic signs. It is too light in my opinion. If you hit a speed bump, you can feel how light the truck is on the rear. I love the Ford trucks, just not the all aluminum body.

IMO, the Tundra would be a far better choice if you are okay with running a non-domestic work truck. I agree, I wish Toyota would bring the diesel truck to USA.
Thanks for the info, as I said, I am not looking. I am just not a pickup fan and we run Sprinter vans for crews, so, it will take something special to get me to actually look. It would be my toy car hauler and I would much rather have an SUV for that.
Can't imagine that Cummins will let "a lot of complaints" last, as that just isn't their style. The first year or so of anything is a gamble. When the V10 Diesel Treg came out in 2004, it had major turbo oil cooking issues that the later variants, like I have, just don't.
I have surveyed out of alot of rigs.
Now a days, it needs to be comfortable, big, and white.
Dark vehicles cook their contents.

@sfreshwaters : I spent about 6 months in the V6 eco-boost. Definitely awake and ready for the gas-pedal but, seemed like the tranny was CONSTANTLY shifting to be in that sweet spot for the turbos. I was also in a v8 of the same truck (also about 6 months) and, per the onboard computers, was getting near the same mileage from the 8 as the 6... on the order of 10ths of an MPG. Personally, I couldn't get past the constant shifting of the eco-boost and the thought that there would be a new transmission in the not-so-distant future.
Again, thanks to all for the feedback. Titan or otherwise.
Jim Frame- Thanks for the first-hand on the Tundra accessories. That extra 5k is enough to keep me looking elsewhere but, if the entire truck holds on for 15 years, it may well be worth it. If I have to change one more window regulator, I'm going back to hand-crank windows... oh wait, I just did. Current ride is a '13 Silverado with vinyl floors, vinyl seats and hand-crank windows. It makes me smile until I'm trying to talk to someone through the passenger window.

Speaking of Sprinter Vans...
I rented one of those Fiat vans, er, I mean Ram Promaster vans and they were much nicer on it than I would have been. I would struggle to tell you anything nice.
No comparison between Toyota and Nissan. Have worked out of and have owned a few of both. Old Nissan trucks, think Datsun, were reliable and could go forever. Today's Nissan is no better than Ford or Chevy. Owner satisfaction surveys bear this out. Toyota will run a long time. I'm driving a 2003 4runner with over 220,000 miles. So far no major mechanical work. All the extras still work. Toyota and Honda are routinely at the top of the list for owner satisfaction.
Unless I get burned by them, I'll probably always buy Toyota.
Once you start looking at 3/4 ton and above, it seems that quality improves among the 'domestic' brands.
Good God! Boss, can we get one ?!??
