Last year I got caught off-guard completely forgetting what day it is/was and had one lonely "customer" accompanied by his parents. After apologizing profusely, I immediately went to the store and got two bags of candy. No one else ever showed up and I ate Snickers for the next month.
Tonight my buddy shows up to drink some beers as we oft do on a Friday night. He did bring over a couple small bags of candies just in case. It's raining and getting cold. He takes the candy next door to visit with the neighbors and wouldn't you know it - now I got visitors!!
It's about 2000 hours and raining pretty good now so I don't reckon we'll see anymore tonight.
I imagine my next visitor will be my cat wanting in. 😀
Actually, that's probably not far from the truth.

We have been in our current house for 12 years. I can count on one hand the number of trick or treaters we have had. We live in a small subdivision on the country, so most of the parents take the kids either to the bog neighborhoods, or the community events.
B o o !
Sure enough, here's Moose at the door hollering to come in and soaking wet!!
After a good toweling off (which he seems to enjoy) he's likely to just curl up by the heater and rack out while we continue our imbibing. Ooops I've been reminded of a slice of cheese. He's the cheese-eatinest cat I've ever known. He must have turds like bricks.
B o o !
That would cause a youngun to soil his tidy whities in a flash!
trick or treat
This year the Frozen cast was in our sights with Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Christoff.
While trick or treating, our Elsa complained about the cold. I sang, 'I thought the cold never bothered you anyway, bmmmm.'
Happy Halloween Eric.
