I have survived another year on our planet. I will celebrate that accomplishment ?ÿby
1) finishing up a booger bear of a map this morning
2) enjoying a day fire and oyster roast this afternoon
3) watching the Super Bowl tonight
I hope you all enjoy my birthday as much as me.?ÿ
Happy Birthday BushAxe!! I used to hope for an exciting birthday but after 65 of them, i now hope for an un-eventfull day! Many more your way!
same here, I??m 56 - I only do something on my birthday if it happens to land on Super Bowl Sunday. It??s kind of like a leap year thing.?ÿ
In the long run your birthday will fall on Sunday in 1/7 of the years. Because they have changed the game schedule, you will have fewer SB birthdays in your life than a Feb 29th baby has leap year birthdays.
actually - this will be the second one in 5 years. The last one was in 2016. My team, the Panthers, played in the SB that year. Unfortunately, they were demolished by Peyton Manning and the Broncos. It was also likely the beginning of the end to Cam Newton??s career.?ÿ
The time before that was in 2010 when Peyton lost to the Saints in Miami, I think.?ÿ
So this will be the third time in 11 years.?ÿ
102 years ago today was when my mother was born in her parents house.
The 11 year cycle is somewhat normal.?ÿ Due to leap years the day of the week occurs every five or six years.?ÿ Five years if two leap years occur and six years if only one occurs.
I think second leap days are only every 4,000 years.
Every year divisible by 400 the leap day is left out.
HC has some of the elements of it but not a clear expanation.
There is a repeating sequence of (6 5 6 11)(6 5 6 11) ... years between recurrence of the same day of the week on a given date, that is not interrupted until a century year (that is not a 400th year) slips it by one day.
So the average time between is 7 years but you may be anywhere in the 28-year cycle of 6 5 6 11 with your particular date.
Not quite.?ÿ A century year is not a leap year unless it is also a 400th year.?ÿ Thus 2000 was a leap year but 1900 was not.?ÿ
There will be no need for an additional leap day for a very long time, perhaps 4000 years.?ÿ If humanity still exists and uses our calendar then, they could simply pick a century year that is not a 400 year to put the extra day in and not mess up things with two leap days in one year.
My expanations (sic) are usually unclear. ???? ??? ?????ÿ
That's it!?ÿ Century years have no leap day UNLESS divisible by 400.
