First, a bit of explanation for those of you who are not familiar with the comic strip, "Retail". It focuses on the trials and tribulations of running a retail store today. Marla is the fairly new manager who worked her way up. Cooper is a lower level stockboy and general flunkie. Lunker is the giant with a tiny brain, but, a great heart. His mastery of the English language is poor. Ron, who you see in each panel today, is a temporary employee brought in primarily to assist with the Holiday overload of stocking and re-stocking shelves. Ron is actually an out-of-work rocket scientist. He was laidoff from his regular job designing space-related equipment. Thus, the humor in Lunker explaining how he will stay in touch with Ron now that Ron is leaving his temp job with Grumbels.

I was Ron a couple of years ago. I had been laid off and went to work for Target. I lasted there 6 months until I got my current job.
