Jeez, i guess the Broncos got lucky yet again. Funny how they keep doing that in spite of being such a podunk school, having no talent to speak of (including their too small, too slow left handed QB), and such a lame-ass coach. They traveled 3000 miles, played in front of a mostly hostile crowd of 80,000 in our nation's capital, against the #6 ranked team in the nation, coughed up a big 1st quarter lead and barely managed to score the winning TD with 1:30 left on the clock. Really boring game to watch, as usual with BSU. Can't wait for Paul in PA to explain to the unwashed masses just how god-awful the Broncos really are and how they don't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as ummmmmh, Penn State f'rinstance.

Oh, wait. Maybe Pauly was wearing his BSU gear tonight! That probably explains it.

Paul is probably just gearing up for next weekends game of #1 Alabama versus #19 Penn State. That should be a great game for Joe Pa.

VT played a pretty good game. They could have folded after the 17-0 lead by Boise but they fought back and made it a very exciting game. Boise has the size, the speed and the coaching to play for the national championship this year. I suppose they did last year also but I think if they win out then the outcry for them to be in the big dance will be too much for even the staunchest of Boise haters to fight this year.

I think they need to get moved into the #1 or #2 slot in the polls to do this though before all the other shuffling happens. It's tough to climb unless other teams lose above you.

Maybe Penn will upset Bama. It could happen.

Playing against BSU for the last dozen years or so, Hawaii fans usually considered it a successful game if the Warriors kept it close, and pull out a win once in a while. Boise State sure has put together a great football program without a lot of the attractions that some of the bigger name programs have.

Except the blue turf of course...

"Maybe Penn will upset Bama. It could happen." It could, but it probably won't. Penn State could be in for an embarrassment.

Boise State, Nowhere To Go, But Down.

There are no more ranked teams on the Boise State schecule. Oregon State is 0-1 and even if Oregon State demolishes Louisville next week, they will not move into the top 25. Boise State has the potential of winning every week from here on in and losing ground in the polls. Maybe they can raise enough bluster on this one win to carry them through the season. The are currently 1-0 and will still be 1-0 in 3 months.

I was working on a survey and did not see a TV broadcast of the game.

Penn State has a very tough row to hoe this year, # 1 Alabama, # 2 Ohio State, # 9 Iowa and by the time the Michigan and Michigan State games come around I expect both of them to be ranked.

By the time January rolls around I think 12-0 Boise State will be happy to play 9-3 Penn State. If PSU squeezes out a 10-2 record I expect them to be playing Texas or Nebraska.

Oh, BTW I also expect Toledo to do in BSU.

Puh-leeze! BS just played probably their toughest opponent this season in VA Tech! They squeaked out the win at that. #1?! #2?! Really?! Put them up against USC...or Alabama....or Florida....or Ohio State...or Texas (etc) - until they play a schedule that's actually meaningful, they have zero business being considered for the national championship game. Consider their strength of schedule in the pitiful WAC compared to the SEC, Big 10 / 12, Pac 10. They're a good program in a miserable conference...but yeah, they managed to beat Oklahoma few years back (LOL), so they got that going for them.

Paul this offers still more proof that you are delusional on the subject of college football. If that's your call on the BSU v Toledo game (on the blue turf) then one can surmise that you also believe that Penn State (not PENN! c'mon people lets get it right) can somehow beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Penn State at Alabama

Alabama has probably the most experienced football team of 2010. Joe Paterno is fielding a freshman quarterback for the first time in his career. In fact Joe says across the board he has the youngest football team he has ever coached. As Joepa says "we will be a better football team after this game". Joe is honest, if he does not think he will win, why should I.

Overall Penn State is 5-8 versus Alabama. Joe went against Bear Bryant 5 times with only 1 win. After Bryant, PSU is 4-4. The 2010-2011 home and home series with Alabama was supposed to happen a few years ago. However Alabama had lost a lot of players due to academics and they called Joe to put off the games a few years because they did not think they would be ready. Joe said OK. Next year Alabama will be graduating a lot of experience, and Penn States youth will mature, so the game at Penn State will be a potential win.

Joe is a lot more concerned about his 5-10 record against Michigan. 3 wins came in the first 4 years in the Big Ten, the other 2 in the last 2 years.

I think BSU will not take Toledo seriously. I have seen them play, they beat Penn State 24-6 in 2000. I had a different nephew go to Toledo, so I will be wearing my Toledo sweatshirt over my BSU tee shirt.

College football is a game played by "amateurs", anything can happen, but you have to play the game before it does. I am not delusional about Penn State, but I surmise a lot of Boise State fans are. They played their game for 2010 and won't have another opportunity until 2011. That is a fact. Blame it on Oregon State or TCU, but definitely not on me or Penn State.

BSU needs to find a real conference. The WAC blows and their move to the MWC seemed credible until Utah announced they were leaving. Now, the MWC blows, too. Doesn't the Big 12 need a team?

OR, they could stop scheduling scrubs in their out of conference games. If BSU scheduled 3 mid level BCS teams, like Va Tech, Oregon State, and Iowa, then took on an "elite" team, like Texas, Alabama, (Maybe USCw, not sure they are elite anymore), then no one would question their schedule. When FSU was an independant, they made a name for themselves by playing "anyone, anywhere". BSU needs the same approach.

Frankly, it's not fair to the teams that play 4, 5, or 6 ranked teams a year to let BSU skate into the BSCNCG with 1 win over 1 ranked team (Oregon) last year.
