This afternoon I got a chance to look at the "Icebreaker To Help Barge Traffic" thread (at this moment on page five for those that missed it). Looking at the pictures in the thread I have a question.

This morning on eastern Long Island, NY next to the Great Pond, when I got up it was 12 degrees F and it went up to 23 degrees F. I am should with these temperatures there are a lot of young surveyors studying for their licensing exam. Not only do engineers design vertical curves so do surveyors. So can I post the vertical curve educational aid that I posted on our engineering board?

Yes

or

No

Two things before you answer. First this post was done in good fun and secondly with the current temperatures the aid will warm the hearts of young surveyors and old surveyors.

Submitted with all due respect.

Floyd

Didn't we already see that picture on one of the forums in the last few months?

Julie,

As I said the post was in good fun. The picture was no worst than the pictures in the "Icebreaker" thread. If the answer is no then case closed. Nothing more said and we move on.

Bill,

Yes, I posted the picture on the engineering site, it was there for a long while and then it went away.

Wendell and Angel,

THANK YOU for hosting this site. We all try to behave as much as we can (well most of us). Thank you again.

Floyd, no worries, I have seen it all before, believe me!

Now, if the other post had a somewhat finer male specimen I think you could compare the two, but come on now, do you guys really think us ladies want to see some broken down old naked dude?

😀

The pic I posted was posted earlier in time, maybe here, I do not remember the source, IT has been around for several years and has been posted on many sites.

The same goes for the one of the guy with the pickaxe, also not remembering the source.

Thanks for laughing with me and not always at me 🙂

For all the surveyors studying for your licensing exam, this is how you remember the formula for a vertical curve.

Maybe, or they might be made in the USA, but they sure have artificial additions.:-P
