The new is leaving this one more quickly than I would like. Walmart again yesterday. My son 11, had a can of pop in the explorer. Four cup holders, mind you, within his reach. FOUR! Where does he put the can of pop, it hadn't been opened yet, WELL... he lays it in the seat. FOUR CUP HOLDERS! Wife hits the breaks unopened can hit the floor, gets punchered and the POP FOUNTAIN sprays from floor to ceiling and everything in between FOUR CUP HOLDERS WITHIN ARMS LENGTH!!

And that is why I went with leather seats. He's still learning....ABOUT THE VALUE OF A CUP HOLDER!!

UPDATE

I just went and checked for sticky spots and lo and behold what I found. there is a FIFTH CUP HOLDER IN THE DOOR!

"Been to a Walmart twice."

I've been to a Walmart twice in the last week:

Deodorant is $1.98 there v. $3.95 elsewhere
Cereal is $2.29 there v. $5.79 elsewhere

Prescriptions are approx. 20% less there, although I did get some eyedrops there for $195 bottle v $450 at Walgreens

Have not spent money at a Wal-Mart in over four years and there are plenty of them to choose from around here. They seem to be able to stay in business without us somehow.

My pharmacist matches their advertised prices on all but one of my meds. We will not consume groceries purchased at a Wal-Mart if we know that was the source. Definitely avoid their meat products at the very least.

I'm at a stage in life where I don't feel I must buy the 69 cent can of corn instead of the 99 cent can of corn. Been there, done that, have the scars to prove it. Not going back.

You expect him to use logic and common sense?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Don't worry, it gets worse.

The one bright spot is soon he may be spending a lot of time at his Girlfriend's house 😉

I have one boomerang adult child living + S.O. (plus 10 month old Grandson) in my house. I remind them on occasion, take it easy on my stuff. You don't need to slam the appliance doors. They are HOEs---hard on equipment.

I have two young people in my household who work for Walmart. They are able to have such low prices by paying non-livable wages and no fringes. In a way I am personally subsidizing the Walton family by providing a cheap place to live, yahoo!

Personally I refuse to go in the place. My wife says their grocery prices are not always cheaper and she buys a lot of stuff they don't carry anyway.

I get a few items at walmart other markets don't have and am amazed at the times the local store's stock is so low and only their Great Value brand is on the shelves.

With a loyalty card Brookshire and Affilitated prices are competitive with walart.

Very glad there is still a local meat market that cuts and packages in store. It is nice to look in while shopping and see something tempting and ask them for a 1in cut and they hold it up and ask for approval.

I have no need or desire to got to Walmart.I don't like the feeling of being a rat in a maze or the neo-surrealistic assemblage of Sino-plastique/synthetic products

They are a predatory company with all the money and lawyers to back them. When they are temporary thwarted by locals for unsound development, they will wait a few years and then assert their effort. It happens here constantly.
For instance, ears ago they decided to build a regional distribution center in rural area (Robert, LA). There were better sites closer to the interstate, and in already established industrial zoned areas. Some of these industrial developments were new. But no, they bought rural land and with their money, influence an lawyer won in the end. (see attached photo).
As for groceries, it is the neighborhood supermarket. I was told that our neighborhood supermarket was featured in a story line of NCIs show recently. Someone said that here is someone's back in a shot that we know. Been shopping there for decades now. They also have the best wine selection in the state of Louisiana and also butcher meat that keeps prices low.

Walmart has been trying to push for nither Super walmart on an inappropriate site ( rural type road access and historically residential area.). But year by year, they wear down the opposition with their influence.

When I was on the Fed Grand Jury years ago , there were many cases that involved drug deals in Walmart and McDonalds parking lots.

Well I now believe it is somebody that works there. Maybe one of the shopping cart guys. Since it has now happened for a third time. I nice 'X' scratched in the front bumper and several smaller scratches across the front and back bumpers. I went to Walmart and asked them if they would view the video and see if it was one of their employees doing it. Of course they would not. They said I have to file a police report and the cops can come look at the video. So I went to the police station, it was empty. Not a soul in sight. I'll go back tomorrow.

I just can't see so many times over such a short period being somebody that knows me or my wife since I just got the Explorer, my wife is the one that goes to the store all the time, and they would have had to catch her at the store each time. Which leaves employees. My wife always parks next to or near the cart return. So there is a lot of foot traffic but these are not bump scratches these are done with a sharp object and 'x' designs. Maybe a surveyor thinks my Explorer is a corner and they are just marking it.

I don't know but three times in a month and half is crazy.
