Someone was asking about power inverters last week....
Here's my setup.
12 Volt Deep Cycle Marine Battery with 105 Amp Hours Capacity
800 watt (1600 watts peak) Cobra Power Inverter.
I have it hooked up to a bunch of temporary light fixtures with compact fluorescents and LED Christmas Lights for working on my spec house.
Surprisingly, it will run my 2 HP Ryobi Skll Saw that supposedly draws 13 amps (at 117 volts AC), but only if I disconnect everything else.
13 AMPS X 117 Volts = 1521 Watts so the skilsaw works fine as long as you don't run into a big knot; then the power will cut out for about 2 seconds.
It's certainly more convenient than running a generator all day.
