A new historical marker at the intersection of the Michigan Meridian and the Ohio-Michigan state line will be dedicated Saturday, March 21, to commemorate surveyors and their work 200 years ago.

"After a boundary dispute that year known as the “Toledo War,” Ohio was granted the 400 square miles of the strip; as a compromise, Michigan was granted statehood in 1837 and instead given 9,000 square miles of the Upper Peninsula."
What a deal. Just think, all of those Yoopers came this close to be cheese-head Packer fans.
