As a comparison, so far today, there are about 35 posts today back at the new "old" place, and about half of them are responses to a single thread.

Usage seems to be WAY off.

And it's still fairly slow.

I just tried to access that site, and it timed out...

Then when I got in, it timed out when I tried to access the forums... 😐

I hope they get their system worked out, it would be nice to have two forums to frequent.

There were 650,000+ posts posted to the archives that covered 102,00+ topics
Angelo, Maybe there is nothing to post about anymore.
at this time they recaptured some speed.
I like both because of the users
There are a few users there like Loyal, John Hamilton, Northern Surveyor, Jimbo etc that I like to follow.
Probably more lurking there.
Curt Sumner of ACSM posted a good message on the state of ACSM the other day.

They got Mike Falk and Dale Ince pretty much chained up over at the Lounge in PnR dungeon.
I think Keith manged to free himself and escape through a air vent and is hiding out here in PnR.
😉

Both sites are viable resources which should provide goof info.

That was just downright funny Muddy.

But Curt did post an excellent summary on the status of the ACSM and the coming conference in 2011.

Seems like only the other site is providing "goof" information at this point.

That was another goof besides the goof that Dan quoted., D-ral.

I think the "product review" could be a big asset there to surveyors but it seems to be loaded up with all kinds of stuff and the users are not fully participating.
sort of like when you go to Amazon and one can read the consumer reviews and rate the product with pros and cons of actual users.

Maybe Wendall can give it some thought for here or maybe not....
might bring some ad money for him and Angel to maintain the site especially if you are going to waste bandwidth with those Blondie vids. 🙂

Blondie vids do not waste bandwidth.
Wendell said that youtube videos posted on this site do not adversely affect bandwidth.

Do you mean user-posted reviews? Or like a regular reviews column you might find in a magazine?

I enjoy the videos & topics you guys post!!

In the past 3 weeks I've learned about: Train explosions, 1800's gravestones, Belgium, vintage instruments, blinking surveying signs, mens "health", getting mosquito guts off the car, bears in Alaska, Condos in Florida, oil spills, good and bad cops, beloved pets, rivers, Puerto Rico, vintage surveying maps, photoshopping, NYC, BBQing, motorcycles, aircraft, snakes(yeck), ghost towns, I-phones, old coins, rocks, BLM manuals, blonde jokes, tornadoes, etc... (I'd be here all night listing if I keep going.)

Just my 2 cents worth. 🙂
