It looks like Hawaii trip (Brad) or a trip to SE OZ (Radu) may be the best to view a full transit. or Tahiti 🙂
Partial transit at sunset here in the SE USA. I do have a nice sunset vista here IF skies are clear
Next Transit of Venus is 2117 so this is it folks.
One of the most eminent celestial events for astronomers, mathmaticians and surveyors too.

Sky and Telescope (Jan) has a nice article about the 1st recorded viewing in England by Horrocks. You can listen to an author interview here.

Wow! Looks like NORTHERNSURVEYOR and Moistner too,(depending on his whereabouts at the time), will be able to see the whole shootin' match according to the graph on your first link.

Have a great week!

yeah..Land of the Midnight Sun

It would be interesting there but no coconut trees.

The jolly fat man left a nice lil celestron scope under the tree this year.;-)

Transit of Venus

The initial point for the national datum of Egypt is a Transit of Venus station established by the British in the late 19th century.

I agree, I would stay here instead. Been there twice and it’s beautiful.
