We had some record temps here recently. -17å¡F with a 10 mph wind is downright cold!
It's the first time I could feel the hairs in my nose freeze/thaw with every breath.
Weird to have a 50å¡F shift in temperatures and still be hovering around freezing.
1 of my toughest work weeks was when it was 0-5 degrees for about a week straight. At the time, I worked outside on belt lines at a facility where we had all kinds of waterlines needed that busted/ even 1's indoors. Felt like them gold miners up in the Klondike; was great when the temps got back up in the teens!
Winter is nice, it makes spring feel that much better.
My dad took this photo of the first sunrise after winter solstice.
This was before the cold snap really set in.
