Yea, one time we got it back without the Post-It notes, but we did get a note, someone left a bunch of paper on top of where we needed to sign, so we threw the notes away. Also I tell them no need to roll it up really tight, just enough to fit it in the tube.

At least here in Oregon, by law, the notary stamp is not required on Plats. You do have to be sure they use the correct pen though.

It is nice to not have blue ink smeared all over plats but it is rare that an Oregon Notary complies with ORS 194.280(8)(d):

"The imprint of the official stamp of a notary public is not required to effectuate a notarization of a subdivision or partition plat...

...The words “MY COMMISSION EXPIRES” immediately followed by the date the notary public’s commission expires, expressed in terms of the month, by name not abbreviated, two-digit date and four-digit year."  They usually get at least one out of three.

The 6 counties I work in within Idaho all require mylars and yes it's a total pain to get those mylars cleanly signed and notarized sometimes.
