Did anyone else get this email?

Announcing Open Enrollment
to Extend Your Warranty

Has or is the warranty coverage on your Trimble product about to expire? Safeguard your investment with a Trimble Protected Extended Warranty.

From now until December 31, 2012 you can add Trimble Protected Extended Warranty coverage to your Trimble technology – regardless of your warranty status. But after December 31st, this extended coverage is only available if your products are currently under Factory or Extended Warranty.

So don't let this limited open enrollment opportunity slip away!

The way I am understanding this is, if your warranty is expired and you do not extend before Dec31, you pretty much have a paperweight on your hands.

Roadhand.. Come on man. If there is a way Trimble can get into your pocket, they will find a way. It is just a scare tactic. I have complete faith in Trimble to make a "special exception" in your case so they can get more cash... I mean extend your warranty.

I think what they mean is that deal is only valid until that date. After that deadline, if a customer is not under any type of plan, that person will probably just pay the full cost of repairs, parts & labor. Same as bringing an old truck to a dealership. That's how I understood it anyway.

In all fairness to Trimble, they do offer a good warranty program that can be purchased for older "pre-GNSS" (when we called it GPS) equipment. Maybe that's this here deal that is coming to an end.
