Be careful what you open.
I just got an email from DHLGroup / DHL Express which says they couldn't deliver a package, and to open the attachment to see details. The header of the email listed a tracking #.
It was totally bogus, fortunately my computer is smarter than I am and didn't let me open the attachment as it recognized it as a virus.
Further inspection of the email revealed some clues, such as the contact info at the bottom was incomplete and the phone # was not of our standard format or length.
Anyways, just posting in hopes it may alert one of you ahead of opening it up.
Yeah that one screwed up a few machines at my company. It also masquerades as Pony Express, UPS, USPS, etc. All with a zip file attached to it.
All of them have have HORRIBLE grammar, which is generally a pretty good indication of a bogus email.
Seen that one several times.
There's one going around now that claims to be issuing you a speeding ticket from New York.
If It made it past my spam/AV programs, it wouldn't make it past me, without prior notification.
The last time I was in either NYC or NY State was 1988. I have no intention of returning.
