Bad boy, bad boy, what ya gonna do, what ya gonna do when they come for you, bad boy.
Greed is such a powerful intoxicant no bottle can contain it.
Slight off-topic, but I get wary of anyone who calls themselves names like "Quality Engineering", or bills themselves as a christian company. (the "Christian" aspect I have seen seems to be in ads where it say "Christian" roofing company or Christian TV Repair, not part of the name but telling everyone that they do work and are christians) It just has kind of a sales-feel built in to their name or advertising scheme. If you have to tell everyone that you are a "quality" company, maybe it can't be seen so you have to tell everyone your so great.
And, by the way, I have always had the same kind of distaste of our professions having to call themselves "Professional" land surveyors or "Professional" Engineers. That same old identity problem that, at least, Land Surveyors have always had in trying to justify to people that we are real professionals and not some laborers. Electricians, Doctors, Lawyers, or other members of "higher arts" don't seem to have to tell everyone that they are "professionals".
Years ago we had a "precision" firm in the area. I had similar feelings as Tom about that.
Naming businesses is a tricky thing. What one person sees as a plus can easily be seen as a negative by someone else. There is a new diner opening about 30 miles from here which proudly proclaims its name to be "The Pink Pickle". Odds are high I won't be exploring anything to do with a pink pickle.
Wow, $7,240 in fines! I bet he won't commit fraud again. It is becoming more and more difficult for me to respect licensure. I too dislike the title of PLS as professional is not a term that one should use to to describe oneself.

A mere slap on the wrist compared to the engineering fees charged for all those projects. Fines like that are no deterrent at all. 75% of the fees charged for projects that were put together by fraudulent means would be a mo' betta fine...might get somebody's attention.
"Quality" will be right back out there..."good old boyin' it" all the way to the bank. Trust me.
What Paden said; based on their webpage and the type of projects they take on, that fine was probably half a days worth of billable time.
