Will it all come to the dollar?
Time to raise rates to affort new equipment with filters.
With Lightsquared's money, they should be willing to invest in filters for everyone in the universe to keep out Lightsquared's chatter.
Its line of logic goes on to suggest that GPS manufacturers should be willing to invest the money to shield their devices from the interference generated by the LightSquared signals.
So the manufacturers need to spend the money to fix something not broken by themselves so that a mistake made by the FCC will make it possible for lightsquared to start making money? Suuurre!
Wow! So while this linked paper states that GPS is currently able to co-exist with the SV services that MSS currently provides in the spectrum under discussion, when Lightsquared wants to drown the ground with (relatively) high-powered terrestrial broadcasts in this band, now it's a GPS filtering problem?
The whole thing about the government subsidizing users is interesting. I guess the GPS network was created without the investment of tax dollars then? Perhaps Lightsquared should be paying the Federal Government for Internet access, as Lightsquared didn't pay for DARPA R&D? Sounds like toll roads need to be more prevalent too in Lightsquard's world. Morons.
