The surveyor of record

Ya, I just read that. What gets me is that his original bid was too high (ever hear that one before?) And to make it more afordable, he dropped teh $50k he had in the bid for lawyers fees, only when assured that payment upon delivery and no chance of litigation. A 1.5 million dollar a year tax base at stake is enough to bend any rules and truths apparently.

I really feel for the guy, looks like he did a through job. A career defining job, and one that he could be proud of, only to have everything be twisted and sdmashed until he was left with nothing.

If you read the comments, I think Terry is there responding to lots of people, username mizarkga

Since it is a dispute between two counties, it should be out of the county's hands as where the boundary is decided to be.

Just saying here, it would tempting to testify against the county that would not pay me.

He may not have any property rights to his survey, I know that when a person does not get paid for their work, the work is not of public record and that the surveyor has the right to get all his copies back and none of it can be used for any consideration, especially to be spoken of by the judge sitting on the matter or any parties of interest in the case.

I have had to repo work before and they will hand it over or be charged with theft of services.

If Terry had done his job correctly then he would have no reason to hide his survey and/or reasoning behind his desisions. You can ask me about any survey I have ever done and I will tell you how and why I did what I did....Terry has family ties to politicians in Forsyth, the same politition that wanted the ..LAND GRAB by Forsyth County.

The reason he won't show up to depositions is because there are some bad ass surveyors in Bibb County that will hand him his hat and expose his participation in the land grab, he ignored evidence, he dreamed up other evidence, and never actually surveyed all the evidence along the existing line, just the two endpoints, and he got one of the endpoints wrong.

Hey, if I did a credible survey and could collect 173k if I just made the case of how I did it then I would probably be in jeporady of getting a speeding ticket on the way to the deposition.

If you do good work then be a man and stand up to defend it, if you have nothing to hide then you should have nothing to worry about.

If the same reasoning Terry used was applied to the Ga/Tenn dispute then Georgia would have a whole lot more water. Once the lines have been established and held to for umpteen years then you can't just come along and ignore that fact, which is what Terry did.

Bad publicity here for the surveying community...

Oh yeah, LAND GRAB.

A deposition wouldn't have guaranteed payment.

> A deposition wouldn't have guaranteed payment.

If he was open and upfront about it and surveyed the line using solid survey procedure and analysis then Bibb would have absolutely nothing to hang their hat on but the reason he won't show up and support his case is due to the fact that he did not use solid surveying techniques and analysis and instead of honestly serving the public, don't want to let down his county comissioner cousin from Forsyth county, upon starting this land grab venture I am sure they did not discuss the 173k fee over the dinner table with the family wink wink.

Shame on him, Bibb County is not the sucker he mistook them to be...
