I have one robotic set and my warranty is about to expire, the cheerful dealer was sure to let me know and send me a quote for $2365 to renew it for another year. The original warranty was 1 year on the tsc3 and i paid the fee last year to keep it going..not sure what good it did me. I have not used the trimble access sync or made any warranty claims. I'm inclined to renew the Tsc3 only this year because my Iman is finally getting good enough to be promoted to PC and AccessSync might be handy. Otherwise I have a nagging feeling im throwing money in the toilet? Comments?
Thanks
We have warranties on a couple of Geo7Xs and they cover the replacement of the screens.?ÿ That's a $1500 repair for each unit, and they won't sell us the screens. Stuck by default in the pay warranty fee loop.... If you can get it serviced or certified for less, I would opt for that. If your results are tying out, then let it ride.?ÿ
Access should work if not updated, unless they've recently started locking that down too.
?ÿ
Good luck
Does that include software and firmware updates??ÿ I'd say it depends on whether your equipment sees rough field and road conditions (how much off-road driving do you do where equipment boxes bounce around and get jolted in the back of the truck?) and whether there's anything significant expected in updates during the coming period.
For the amount of liability and risk factor of being at my jobsite, it would be benificial to keep the warranty up.
"These units can fail if the wrong sequence of buttons are pressed" was what I would tell new IMen so they would pay more attention to the instrument and not treat it as a sack of rocks.
All my TS will tell me when to service them because they will become dry and squeek to let me know it needs the bearings packed.
