Forgot to to post these numbers from my February adwords results:

Clicks to my website: 34
Monthly cost: $43.77

I don't know how many of the clicks turned into calls, but 1,800 sets of eyes on my ad can't be bad.

Thoughts?

Nice.

I have gotten in the habit of asking all leads how they found me. This is my attempt to tract the different media results. The cheapest methods seem to be the best for me: word of mouth, sign on the truck and sign on the building. Yellow pages don't seem to be cost effective any more; GOOGLE has almost eliminated the need for the book, but I still have an ad there......

I haven't done the Google Ad Words yet....waiting for your results to get posted 😀

When I went into business 4 years ago Google Adwords started getting me jobs within a day and I believe allowed me to be able to stay in business. I added a request a quote link on my website and it works out real nice. I messed around with the cost per click setting, but have had the best luck leaving it set to automatic and setting a dailey budget cap of $3/day, which scores me 3 to 4 clicks a day. It costs me around $1,200/ year but one job almost covers it and it's tax deductible. Be sure to set an area restriction, so you don't get requests from the other side of the country. I think mine is a 20 or 30 mile radius from my address. It's good for getting lot surveys and out of town contractors, engineers or architects looking for surveyors in the area. I upgraded Yellowpages.com for a few years, but didn't recieve the traffic that Adwords generated.

Hey Kelly,
Good ideas there.
I used to live in Cuyahoga Falls. Right across the bridge from you in the River Estates subdivision. Left there in '79 for (O.D.) greener pastures.
Good times.

I'm glad you posted this. I just started my first adwords campaign and of course I'm wondering how much traffic it will get to my site. 1800 views a month is great, hopefully I'll see similar results. Any tips you'd be willing to share on wording of your adds? Daily limits, etc.?
