Did Bill Gates sell the Brooklyn Bridge too? ????
Gates was darned near selling the bridge when he sold DOS to IBM.
He rented furniture and hired people off the street for a few days to look busy for the visitors, so it looked like a bigger company and was thus more credible.
Thanks for the insight! One reason for starting the topic was because I ponder sometimes about having parallel businesses with surveying and think about how they could benefit each other. I think I shy away sometimes of various ideas due the the ethical questions that could arise from having two companies that overlap in their business dealings. I am under the belief/assumption that as long as the client(s) know, understand, and agree to using your surveying services (or other service for that matter) there really isn't an ethical dilemma? Correct me if wrong...
"there really isn't an ethical dilemma?"
None whatsoever. They are two totally separate corporations. No monies are comingeled (That's a big no no within all corporations.) In addition to my surveyor license I have a real estate license as well. The surveying business has nothing to do with the Investment Co. And to add fuel to the ongoing debate about performing your own survey, the Investment Co. contracts with a local surveyor for boundary and topo services. My survey company refuses to do them. And besides they are overpriced! Thus, a local surveyor so they can take the blame if there is a mistake. ????
I don't know who sold the Brooklyn Bridge but Jed Clampett owns it as well as Central Park. ????
