If anyone here gets deeds online from Brazoria County Texas or any other county that uses BridgePay Network Solutions in Lake Mary Florida to process the credit card, be sure to check your credit card early and often.
Someone stole my credit card number, made two charges to Netflix, and then tried to buy $2600 in furniture from Lebanon Pennsylvania before 8am the next morning. The people at the furniture store said it was to be delivered to New Jersey.
Wow, that sucks, hopefully your card is taking care of the fraud, and maybe the local news team can light up the incompetent IT manager at the county for allowing it to happen.
Its 2021, the software works,and the hardware. If you're choosing not to participate you need to be fired... lazy IT people....
I called the Brazoria County Clerk, they blamed it on the people in Florida and gave me a number. The Florida people will not answer the phone. Alvin PD said I need to file it with my local police department.
The Credit card company is the one that caught it but they are still investigating one of the Netflix charges.
My internet is so slow that I couldn't watch Netflix if I wanted to.
Third party card processors are common, at least around here.?ÿ I have an on-line subscription to a records service for several small counties that don't have their own website.?ÿ After paying a regular payment a few years ago my card co. called and asked if I was in Europe because someone was buying stuff wit my card number.?ÿ Thankfully it was all declined.
The subscription service has since changed the way they take care of CCs.

Nearly every card company uses software to catch breaks from normal patterns. My daughter lives overseas and I get a call every time she 'needs' to order something using one of our accounts. They'll call me for a 6 dollar charge in Bali, but 5 grand in another state they don't bat an eye...
