Once in a great while we'll get a request from a general contractor's AP department for invoicing in AIA form...something like AIA form G702.

We'll usually resubmit our standard invoice and get paid. How do you respond to insistent AP departments when asked for pay requests on AIA forms?

Fill them out and submit them. That's all. I ask for an example sometimes if it is something unfamiliar.

We have a bunch of clients for whom we have to fill out very specific forms to get paid, including certified payroll reports, lien releases, and with DOT/most state work we have to fill out hours sheets and salary reports.

I have a few clients that require those forms. It is a pain, especially being solo, and having to run around and get signatures notarized for the lien waivers.

Unfortunately, some of the higher paying and more lucrative jobs require that. It's just part of the business side of things.
