Introducing the RPLS.com Product Spotlight

A new one-time way to announce a product, app, or service to the surveying community on RPLS.com — clearly labeled, editor-reviewed, and members save $25.

Every so often someone reaches out who isn’t quite a fit for our Vendor Membership. Not because their product isn’t good, but because they’ve got one thing to announce, not an ongoing presence to maintain. An independent developer with a new app. A dealer with a new instrument. A service that just launched. They don’t need a monthly membership. They need to be seen once, by the right people.

So we built something for them: the Product Spotlight.

It’s a one-time, professionally edited announcement about a product, app, or service — published here on the blog and posted in the forum. It’s public, it’s permanent, and it’s indexed by Google, so it keeps turning up when a surveyor searches for what they make, long after launch week is over.

Here’s how it works. They send us the story and the images. We edit it, build a featured image to match the site, and send a proof before anything goes live. Base is $149. Premium, at $249, adds a share across our social channels, a spot in The Cut Sheet, and a week in the homepage featured slot.

A couple of things worth saying plainly, because this is a community first and a marketplace second.

Every Spotlight is clearly labeled as a sponsored announcement. We edit them to our standards, we don’t run anything that isn’t genuinely relevant to surveying, and we’ll always be straight with you about what’s an ad and what isn’t. That part isn’t going to change.

And if you’re already a member — any plan — you get $25 off. One more thing your membership is good for.

So if you make something surveyors use, or you know someone who does, take a look at how the Product Spotlight works. And if you’ve just got a question, you know where to find me.

I was a Land Surveyor for 26 years, then I moved on to building and maintaining websites for my second career. But I've never lost sight of the surveying community. I've always been — and will always be — a Land Surveyor at heart.
