I had the freedom to finish the field work on two different jobs before lunch. A rain storm made the last ten minutes downright miserable. But, we finished.
Damn fireworks around my house started Wednesday during the day and continued non stop until late last night. ????

It's, "Get off my lawn"! You must have an original M1 Garand pointed at the offending hoodlums for the warning to work.
As aggravating as fireworks in the 'hood can be, I can't help but rejoice there are still a few hoodlums out there. It almost restores my faith in humanity. Most of the worthless "hoodlum age" pimples aimlessly wandering my neighborhood are staring down at their phones...oblivious to the world that awaits their docile majority.
I'd be happy to catch some young punk trying to steal my hubcaps. I'd probably offer him a job. 😉
My family arrived for the weekend and while wet from my sprinkler on Saturday, my grandkids spent the afternoon blowing up paper towel and toilet tissue tubes by the score and a couple of spiderman figures around the driveway and yard.
Everyone jumped, including pets, every time one went pop.

A few years ago I was up in Missouri and stopped at a year-round fireworks outlet. It was out in the middle of nowhere and my antique bladder needed a rest. I was surprised to see they had M-80s for sale there so I grabbed a half dozen.
When I got home to test my bounty I was disappointed with their wimpy explosion. I don't think they put as much "good stuff" in them as they used to...I might be wrong with my memory just playing tricks on me...but I really don't think so.
It just goes to show "they don't make them like they used to."

A half dozen? You know you can't blow anything up (like the oppositions "secret" tree fort) with 6 m-80's. Hell that ain't even a quarter stick of dynamite. I'm sure when the statute of limitations runs out you'll have some interesting yarns about fireworks when you were, ahem, a young lad. ????
